Next Leadership Development facilitates local programs that address the personal emergencies people are facing that can turn into a personal disaster without support. We also have programs that build on the strengths in community to support each other.

Workforce Pipeline & Entrepreneurship

Resilience Builder Program

Pathways to racial justice and resilience are paved with reframing narratives, building knowledge and skills, being in a supportive community, and taking strategic, collective action. So, in the summer of 2020, we partnered with All Aces, Inc, BridgeBuilder Cinematic Arts, TCGT Entertainment, and Encuentro Diaspora. Each year we evolve the program for even more impactful experiences.

Mutual LAid / Community Care / Emergency Preparedness, Response & Recovery
Boston Resilience Corps

Boston Resilience Corps members help their neighbors with personal and community emergencies. The youth and young adults who complete our Resilience Builder program are eligible to join BRC. We provide regular opportunities for learning and engagement. We have expanded the program to provide out-of-school time and workforce development in disaster and climate resilience.

Wellness Checks / Food Security / Intergenerational Relationship Building

Boston Resilience Corps members and our team provide food deliveries and other resources to over 100 Black elders in the City of Boston each month. We call to check on them and if they need food that month, we bring them perishable and shelf stable groceries. We also organize focused in-person wellness checks at senior housing developments with the Boston Resilience Corps members.

Mutual Aid / Community Care / Emergency Preparedness, Response & Recovery
Boston Mutual Aid Project (BMAP)
The Boston Mutual Aid Project (BMAP) is a fellowship and community of practice to build capacity and relationships between mutual aid organizers, collective care organizations, experts, advocacy organizations, and policymakers. BMAP partners with fellows to strengthen their effectiveness with communities and access to resources.

National Programs

Next Leadership Development also facilitates national programs that integrate racial justice into climate and disaster resilience to support Black Leadership.
Community CommS Center

The Community Communications Center provides Greater Boston residents with access to resources and support in navigating different programs and systems important to their lives. Additionally, it is the first point of contact for the Black Resilience Network Emergency Operations Center.

National Coalition
